TRIBUTE BY THE ANKRAH’S FAMILY

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and you took the one less traveled by,
and how I wish you had taken the longer route so that we could enjoy this earth with you a little longer.”

George Korley was known to our family as Uncle George. A man, full of life and perfection. We shared family ties in most matters. He allowed us to share his children with him, which made a huge impact on our lives. Anytime we would come to his house he always wanted to offer everything he had with us. He was a leader when it came to his friends and family. He quickly rises up to challenges when we are at a loss for direction. Whatever he planned to do he made sure it was accomplished to perfection. The only thing he valued almost as much as his family and friends were his music and golf. He promised we would all one day play together, and he would teach us his secret swing styles. At Memorial Day parties, he would be the last person dancing after everyone has left. How do you expect us to play good music going forth? Who is going to follow Mrs. Ankrah and shout “Atopa”? Brother and Uncle, with all our hearts, you are the person in life, we never thought we would have lost you so suddenly. We will miss the conversation and laughter you shared with us, “Cheer Nu”

(My Good Friend). We are short of words and this is what we bid you farewell with –

“If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken, No time to say "Goodbye".
You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you -No one can ever know.
But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more;
To remember all the happy times life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today.
A hollowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay. "

So go and run free with the Angels dance around the golden clouds – For the Lord has chosen you to be with him and we should feel, nothing but proud. Although He has taken you from us and our pain, a lifetime will last – Your memory will never escape us but make us glad for the time we did have. Your face will always be hidden deep inside our hearts – Each precious moment you gave us shall not, ever depart. So go and run free with the Angels as they sing so tenderly – And please be sure to tell them to take good care of you, for us.
