TRIBUTE BY GHANAIAN ENGINEERS AND ARCHITECTS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (GEAAA)
The news of Mr. George Korley’s death was received by all members of the Ghanaian Engineers and Architects Association of America (GEAAA) with shock and disbelief. We never heard George (as we affectionately called him) was sick nor hospitalized. How then can we accept such news when members of our organization were not able to even pay our last visit before his departure from this earth? Death has come once again to rob us. George was a founding member of GEAAA, a non-profit association organized under the laws of the State of New York and registered in 2012. He was the first President, a position he held till his untimely death on February 20, 2021. His dedication and enthusiasm towards the work of GEAAA cannot be overstated. As President of the Association George worked tirelessly to ensure the growth of the association. In addition, he helped to create incentives and other initiatives on mentoring both engineering students and recent engineering graduates. He supported others to secure job positions through referrals and collaborated with other colleagues in obtaining engineering projects. George presided over GEAAA, an association which contributed to the construction of several projects in Ghana through financial and technical support, as well as the award of scholarships to numerous university students and engineering researchers in the USA, Africa, and Ghana in particular. His absence will have a severe impact on the work of the association.
I will lie down in peace and sleep, for thou, Lord, only maketh me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:8
GEORGE, REST IN PERFECT PEACE IN THE LORD
